SOUTH BEND, Ind.Inovateus Solar, a leader in the solar power industry, is supplying the materials for a 1.134-megawatt ground-mounted solar array that the Dayton Power and Light Company (DP&L) is building in Montgomery County, Ohio. When completed this spring, the facility will consist of 9,000 solar panels constructed over seven acres, and will generate enough electricity to power nearly 150 homes. The project is expected to cost approximately $5 million and will be the largest solar power facility in Southwestern Ohio.

The system will utilize 8,850 of Sharp’s new Utility Scale Thin Film Solar Panels with Schletter racking and two Xantrex GT500 inverters. The installation will also include a hands-on interactive educational solar kiosk to help students and other visitors learn about solar power and its impact on the environment. Inovateus Solar, the solar integrator, is working with installation contractor Ameridian Specialty Services and major subcontractors Schneider Electric and Miller Valentine.

“Using a local installer and general contractor was very important to DP&L,” said Peter Rienks, engineer and project manager for Inovateus Solar. “By coordinating the work of four companies, Inovateus Solar can offer the highest quality solar installation anywhere in the state of Ohio and the United States.”

Joseph Jancauskas, manager of the solar project for DP&L, said the company was happy to find suppliers close to home. “Although it is not well known, there is plenty of local talent to do solar work in our area. You don’t have to go to California or Europe to find the necessary skills,” he said.

“Inovateus Solar has been a tremendous resource for equipment, material and information to support this project at all phases,” said Matt Owens, director of operations for Ameridian’s Solar & Renewable Energy Division.   “For Ameridian, this project will allow us to expand our ground-mounted system experience and it will provide work for approximately 20 of our associates during construction.”

Inovateus Solar partners with top solar module and inverter manufacturers to offer customers the highest quality, cutting-edge products. The company specializes in large-scale solar installations for businesses, universities and utility companies. Inovateus Solar also offers competitive pricing with flexible financing options.
